Long live the Princess of Batavia.

The new era begins; the era of finding beauty in strength, elegance in resilience, and grace in vulnerability.

Bio

Kamila Batavia, widely known as “The Princess of Batavia”, is a multilingual singer-songwriter and storyteller whose music inhabits a quiet, timeless space between gothic folk, chamber-pop, and medieval romance. With the delicate arrangements of vintage piano, poetic strings, and whispered confessions, Kamila invites listeners into a secret kingdom—where dreams, memory, and longing intertwine like ivy on ancient stone.

Born in Indonesia on December 18, 1998 and fluent in Indonesian, German, and English, Kamila effortlessly bridges cultures in both her sound and her words. Her music draws deeply from classical lieder, 19th-century poetry, and European art-song traditions. The result is a rare sonic world that feels cinematic, intimate, and filled with bittersweet nostalgia.

Her debut EP, “The Scent of Camellias” (2025), introduced this universe to the public—six carefully crafted tracks that captured themes of lost love, fate, fragile beauty, and quiet despair. Songs like “Hilang dan Tak Kembali”, “Als Ich Einschlief” and "Head Over Heels" were praised for their poetic depth, blending Indonesian melancholy with German lyrical elegance and English dream-pop clarity. The EP gained underground attention in both Southeast Asia and Europe, quietly building an international fanbase of listeners drawn to Kamila’s haunting, literary style.

Kamila’s early career is marked by milestones that reflect her unique cross-cultural reach. She was honored to serve as the opening act for Indonesian pop-rock legends D’MASIV in Hamburg, exposing her introspective chamber-pop to a wider mainstream audience. Soon after, she made an international mark by performing at the prestigious German Songwriting Awards in Berlin—becoming one of the few foreign-language artists to compete and perform in German, a testament to her linguistic ability and artistic ambition.

Beyond the studio and stage, Kamila has crafted a complete artistic persona: “The Princess of Batavia”—a figure both real and imagined, symbolizing her music’s mixture of timeless longing and quiet nobility. Her songs are less performances and more whispered confidences, like hidden letters from a medieval court or echoes from a forgotten opera.

As her music continues to reach audiences around the world, Kamila Batavia remains dedicated to creating art that transcends borders, languages, and eras. Whether writing, composing, or performing, she offers a space for reflection—for lovers of poetic sadness, cinematic soundscapes, and fragile beauty.

Notable Milestones:
   •    Released debut EP “The Scent of Camellias” (2025) featuring multilingual original songs.
   •    Selected as official opener for D’MASIV's world tour in Hamburg, one of Indonesia’s best-known pop-rock bands.
   •    Performed at the German Songwriting Awards (GSA) in Berlin, singing in German as a rare foreign-language participant.
   •    Gained recognition on curated alternative and chamber-pop playlists internationally.
