Long live the Princess of Batavia.

The new era begins; the era of finding beauty in strength, elegance in resilience, and grace in vulnerability.

Bio

Kamila Batavia is an independent multilingual singer-songwriter, genre inventor, and multidisciplinary storyteller. Known as The Princess of Batavia, she creates Baroque Galactic — a self-forged fusion of baroque elegance, cinematic melancholy, symbolic storytelling, and mythic futurism.

Through soft velvet vocals, antique pianos, and orchestral textures, Kamila builds worlds where memory, longing, and quiet resilience feel timeless, as if whispered from another era.

Born in Jakarta on December 18, 1998 as Kamila Putri Dewi and fluent in Indonesian, English, and German, Kamila draws from classical Lieder, European poetry, and Southeast Asian emotionalism. Her debut EP The Scent of Camellias (2025) introduced her universe: intimate, symbolic, multilingual. Songs like Hilang dan Tak Kembali, Als Ich Einschlief, and Berakhir dan Berlalu revealed her signature blend of emotional precision and poetic imagery.

In 2025, she became one of the rare Indonesian artists to perform in German at the German Songwriting Awards in Berlin. That same year, she completed a self-driven tour across Hamburg, Jakarta, Tangerang, and Köln — an early testament to the global shape of her career.

Central to her identity is her persona, The Princess of Batavia, a figure embodying grief, mythology, and the reconstruction of memory. Through her work, Kamila builds a Gesamtkunstwerk: music, poetry, visual art, and lore woven into a seamless universe.

Beyond music, she is a painter, poet, and visual storyteller. Her cloud paintings have been exhibited in Germany, and her self-portraits appear across her merchandise and stage visuals. Her poems, including Rose Palette (2019) and Mercusuar dan Gelombang Samudera Biru (2024), form the literary roots of her symbolic language.

With each release, Kamila Batavia continues to expand her mythos, inviting listeners into a world where sound, image, and story converge — a universe she both remembers and invents.

The Baroque Galactic

Where Baroque emotion meets the infinite cosmos - beauty, grief, and time suspended in sound.

Baroque Galactic is a sonic universe envisioned by Kamila Batavia, a multilingual Indonesian singer-songwriter based in Germany. Blending the emotional grandeur of the Baroque era with the vast stillness of the cosmos, the genre transforms grief, beauty, and memory into soundscapes that feel both sacred and cinematic.

Born from Batavia’s personal journey through loss, migration, and self-reinvention, Baroque Galactic reimagines classical and ambient forms as a space for transcendence. Strings, choirs, and ethereal textures orbit through silence, creating music that feels at once intimate and infinite.

For Batavia, Baroque Galactic is more than a genre—it is a philosophy of feeling. It rejects the speed and superficiality of modern trends, inviting listeners to slow down and experience emotion as light, resonance, and timeless reflection.

Her next chapter begins with the upcoming single “Tayomi,” arriving in early 2026—a luminous introduction to her Baroque Galactic era and a deeply personal tribute to her late mother.

In her own words, “Baroque Galactic is where human sorrow becomes starlight.”

Road to Baroque Galactic:
An Interview Series by Kamila Batavia

Filmed across Hamburg’s historical landmarks, this intimate interview series traces the emotional and artistic journey behind Kamila Batavia’s debut EP, The Scent of Camellias (2025).

Across five chapters, Kamila revisits each song not as mere compositions, but as living memories; windows into grief, rebirth, and self-discovery. Between gothic ruins, town halls, and quiet city corners, she speaks of transformation: how sorrow becomes art, and how beauty survives time.

Road to Baroque Galactic serves as a bridge between eras closing the chapter of The Scent of Camellias while opening the celestial gates to her next creation, Tayomi (2026), the leading single of her upcoming album Memento Mori.

Each episode offers a rare look into Kamila’s creative world where her reflections on language, symbolism, and emotion reveal the delicate architecture of an artist who turns vulnerability into myth.
